I am an oil painter living in Nosara, Costa Rica.

I was born in Phoenix Arizona in 1959, grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. I received my Masters of Fine Arts degree from the University of Iowa. I have painted professionally since 1982 and won numerous plein air painting awards. My work is in private and corporate collections all over the world.

In 2004 I moved to Costa Rica. The effect on my work has been profound. I began surfing and coupled with my lifelong love of the ocean, a new direction was born - painting the surf, big waves, and the power of the ocean.
