History:
I studied Fine Art and Design at Wairiki Polytechnic Rotorua from 1993 to 1996. I have worked as a Graphic Designer, primarily in the surfing industry for the past 15 years, branding surf companies from New Zealand, to Australia, England, and the USA. I'm currently studying for a degree in Graphic Design, with the intention of going on to do a master's in design. (BOP Polytechnic)

Medium:
Oil Pastel, on a fine double stretched canvas. Manipulating the colours with my fingers; in an effort to achieve bold, smooth, pure forms. I also work a lot with transforming my illustrations graphite and ink into digital form.

Influence:
The ocean, waves, coastal land and plant life. Illustrated in a style that's been extracted from the beauty of stained glass window panels; the kind I stared at as a child while being forced to sit through another sunday morning church service, dreaming of where I'd rather be.

My style:
I have spent a large portion of my life exploring the ocean through surfing, I feel privileged to have been able to experience nature's beauty, and the way the light reflects through waves at different times of the day, much like a stained glass window; this combined with New Zealand's lush foliage and rugged yet beautiful coastal lands, is a gift few get to discover the way surfers do.

I try to bring nature's colours to life in my work, so as to be able to share with people a slightly different view of the most beautiful country in the world, New Zealand.
