Surf Photographer

Clare Plueckhahn

I am 25-year-old commercial photographer based in Melbourne with Aireys Inlet as my second home. I have been surfing since I was little and started shooting surfing about a year ago. Surfing has taken me around the world including Bali, Hawaii, Mexico, South Africa and of course most of all Australia. Although I have been working as a food and travel commercial photographer for the last 3 years, my passion lies with surf photography. I bought a water housing for my camera about a year ago and feel every time I go out I am learning. It is an amazing challenge to shoot from the water but is extremely rewarding. I have had my work regularly published on Coastal Watch and Swellnet, although I am in the process of marketing my work for both commercial and editorial work.

Although I am still emerging in the area of Surf Photography I feel as though I have the energy and passion to build my-self a career. I hope to focus on the area of Womens Pro Surfing which I think is an area that lacks exposure.
