My OCD has kicked in and im on a roll with the boxes, its the spring time blues with shity winds and lack of waves.

Multiples are fun

Over time they start to make some nice combinations..

Ground Hog Year

Man talk about a long winter nap, this past month has been groundhog day shit. must have been over 20 days of ridable surf this past February and it looks like march is going to be good as well.......

Surf City before dark

Maybe 5-7 times a year do swell and no wind come together for afternoon sessions. This winter has seen several days with favorable conditions for after work fun, this may lead to a great spring season..

50 Years of Harbour

Rich Harbour has been making surfboards for over 50 years now. The Honolua company is coming out with a book soon "the harbour chronicles". My first experience in the working world was at harbour's shop. Rich took a chance and gave me a job stripping the resin floor in the glass room. i promoted to the sales desk and the life lessons learned were priceless. 30 years later Rich and i are still friends.

Congratulations Rich on 50 years of success.

There is going to be a grand opening (Feb. 13th only) of the exhibit at the Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion on the campus of Orange Coast College. It is free admission, free parking, will be catered by the OCC culinary class with beverages provided free by Starbuck's - once again, all FREE! The exhibit runs until April 9th, but there is only one Grand Opening ceremony.
The book is being printed and bound in Asia, and the Chinese New Year is right in the middle of the process. This complicates being able to exactly predict the book's delivery as they all go on vacation, but our best estimate is March 29th. It is hard bound containing 144 pages of many, many pictures and stories.
Signed and numbered copies (150 only) will be $49.95 and unsigned are $29.95. At present we are not taking reservations for the signed or unsigned copies .
On March 29th (if the books arrive by this date) there will be a VIP (special invitation) book signing of the numbered editions, plus LIMITED EDITION #3 Curly Redwood/Balsa will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. There will be a $10,000 reserve and it remains un-glassed, waiting for me to sign it and place the happy, highest bidder's name on it.

Winter time

This winter has been Good, Very Good. Its looks like we might have one more weekend of fun waves. Soon the weather pattern will change to the spring time blues.

Calm after the storm

what a wild weekend, and the hits just keep on coming

South Winds and West swells in longBeach

Make for some interesting situations. Spots that cant break are showing signs of life. Its seems like the boyz are always on it. only two guys out and some serious shit going on...

Katin Comp

Got a paying gig to shoot the katin. Seal Beach wonder boy Chris Waring took it to em.

The comp had a cool vibe and the team format adds to the flavor of the event

a few more from this past weekend at the seal beach surf contest sponsored by katin

stayed home for this swell. small, clean, and fun. the local contest was on and seeing old friends from 30 years ago is nice. Got home court advantage today, no one around a day after the circus left town. im holding the goods for later days...

We are having a good winter so far, homebase sand is wrong though. other spot have filled the void..HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!

Holiday Routine

Kinda the same thing for the last 35 years for me. west swell, kids out of school, old guys off work for xmas, and fun waves with no sun....groundhog day shit
